Hope everyone had a good week! My week was pretty good here in Hilton Head! and GUESS WHAT??? It is finally starting to get a little chilly here. I hear it's freezing in Utah;) On Tuesday and Saturday it rained all day long. Which is definitely something I am not really used to. I hate driving here in the rain because there is a lot of it. Anyways, this week we did a lot of member visiting and finding new people to teach. On Tuesday, we had our weekly dinner with the Lynch Family. awwwww how I love them! Brother Lynch is so spiritual in the Gospel and always has something new to share with us. But this week we got talking to try and find ways he could help us with our people/members. He mentioned this talk and it really made me ponder. The talk is from the October 2012 General Conference. "What shall a Man Give in Exchange for His Soul?" I challenge all of you to read it and ponder this question. Would you sell your soul for a Nickel? It makes you think about all the things you can change in your life. I thought a lot about before my mission and how too often I found myself scrolling through Instagram for the one-thousandth time without a purpose. When in all reality I hadn't read my scriptures or done my homework. Right now I wish I could take back all the time I wasted and study the scriptures. Can you imagine how many times I would have read the Book of Mormon cover to cover if every time I went to scroll through Instagram and was actually reading the Book of Mormon. There is nothing more important than learning and growing closer to our Savior Jesus Christ. I know without a doubt reading the Book of Mormon daily will help us grow closer to him. And live a christ-centered life. At the end of the talk, it says this "My testimony is my most precious possession". That is my favorite part. Your testimony is the one thing you can have with you through life. I want to challenge everyone to read the Book of Mormon in 90 days! (If you accept email me back a YES!! I want to hear about what everyone is learning!) 

We have been teaching this guy named Pablo and he is so close to Baptism he just won't take that step yet. But he has to roommates that we want to teach so bad that normally sit in the kitchen when we are at his house and secretly listening to us. We went to see him on Sunday and he was outside cleaning his car. So we thought we wouldn't see them. But all of a sudden one came out then the other came. It's funny because they don't want us to know they are interested but at the same time they want to be there when we are there. Heavenly Father is working on preparing them for us to teach. haha.

This week went by super FAST. To be honest it's all kind of a blurr. We have been trying really hard this week to Find people over social media. Its definitely a little harder to get that connection with people and find their needs when talking to them over text. This scripture  has never been so relevant in the work.  "Neither take ye thought beforehand what ye shall say; but treasure up in your minds continually the words of life, and it shall be given you in the very hour that portion that shall be meted unto every man." Everytime I would read this scripture I would always think about how in the very moment the words in Spanish would be brought to my remembrance or the things that need to be taught not what to say to a person to get them to respond. But the Lord really does work Miracle line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little, there a little! Although most people are not so interested in learning right now, they WILL BE! Mis queridos! April 27, 2010. Hollie "20" Birthday

Mis queridos!  Thank you to everyone who made my Birthday so special! It was definitely one to remember. I have officially begun my "back in my 20s" stage! And I get to start it off by doing something I enjoy so much! Serving the Lord. I won't want to be anywhere else. Although some days are challenging and it feels like it's never going to end but then I just look back and see how far I've come and I am just amazed! Halfway! I can't even believe it. Feels like yesterday when I was graduating high school, going to college, and getting my mission call. But here I am, just doing my best to work hard and learn. And man oh man I just love it. I love how I have learned to rely on my Savior because he doesn't want us to go through things alone. He wants to help us because he knows how hard life can be sometimes. I love the Book of Mormon and I'm grateful that I have finally realized how much I need it in my daily life. I can tell that I am happiest ...

Mi Familia, It's been a couple week s . How  are you  all doing   with that cold Utah weather?  It was still pretty nice here until  November 1 .   T he first (actually) cold day here. We got up to go running and walked outside and had to come back inside to put a long sleeve shirt on. It was crazy because on Halloween it was in the high 80s and overnight it dropped to the 30s.  Anyways, last week   the Senior Missionaries in my area took us on a P-day to Beaufort and we were gone all day. It was so much fun! They picked us up and took us to Beaufort where we at lunch and had ice cream. We walked on the boardwalk and watched as boats came through the bridge. Then they drove us to hunting island to see the lighthouse. We got  t o climb the 197 steps to the top of it and lookout. The view was AMAZING! Elder and Sister Brandt are such Awesome people.
